Our Work Work in Slum Centers Currently working in 44 slums in Bangalore with 45 yuvacharyas and 3 MSW graduates. Centers operate daily from 10am to 6pm Team conducts 2 -3 Nav Chethana Shibirs at each slum centre per every week. Activities undertaken in these slums include: Nav Chetana Shibirs Facilitating Self Help Groups [SHGs, Micro Finance] Tuitions [for 4th to 10th Std] Awareness programs on environment and pollution Health Camps Tailoring Computer Basics Spoken English Conducting Bala Navachetana shibirs and Talent Club in Schools as part of School Partnership program. As on date, 8000 school children have been trained DKP YLTP Training Currently we have 120 trained yuvacharyas working across slums and districts of Bidar and Chikkamaglur DKP YLTP Training comprises of the following: YLTP Phase 1 and Phase 2 Talent Club KYC Self Help Groups [Approach, Needed Process/ discipline, Dos and Donts] Vedic Mathematics, Spoken English, Communication skills, Leadership skills Programs and Events Various programmes have been organized: Plantation Pollution Control Awareness Health Awareness March past on August 15th Certificates Distributed Children rally in slums on importance of education Medical and Dental Camps were conducted in the Jayanagar, Srirampuram, Magadi Road, Sanjaynagar, Seshadripuram slums for more than 600 people Nurses visited each house in the slum to demonstrate Health and Hygiene practices Last Updated ( Thursday, 15 October 2009 16:30 )
